Meet Our CEO

Neils Ribeiro-Yemofio was born and raised in Alexandria, Va. as the son of Ghanaian immigrants. His work ethic and strong moral compass come from the love and guidance he received from his family. Growing up throughout the DC-Metro area, he got to see, first-hand, the disparities in our education system. Seeing this gave him a passion for social justice with an emphasis on education reform.

His entire career, Neils has been focused on fighting the good fight so that we can improve the equity and opportunity for all people across the world. Neils has worked for College Track, a college access and completion program for first-generation and low-income students; and City Year, an international educational nonprofit organization.  Neils has had the opportunity to be a Program Manager, Program Director, Start-Up Executive Director, and Regional Director all before the age of 30. He has won several national awards and participated in multiple executive leadership programs. He has been on 3 founding boards for start-up nonprofits that span from education to mental health. He has helped build boards for nonprofits since 2012 and has experience managing nonprofit budgets since 2013

As a graduate from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a BA in Management and Society and a Minor in Social Entrepreneurship and African American Studies, Neils also received his MS in Nonprofit Management with a concentration of Organizational Leadership from Northeastern University.

He currently resides in Prince George's County, MD with his wife, Shamelle, and their two sons.
